This is a continuing story – WattleRangeNow posted first story  1st April.

An excited group of artists and art enthusiast is getting ready to travel to France to build the Sculpture track in La Ferte St St Aubin  that will be linked with the one being built in Beachport. (seen above)

Dion Howell has been interested in art for many years and his love of Limestone carving developed after he entered a competition at a Beachport Festival by the Sea. He has won many competitions since then, doing Limestone Sculptures. Dion and his wife, Emma , will be travelling to France with their children , Indi & Oskar.

Christy Wallace is interested in the musical aspect and has recorded a CD “Angel on Earth” which is a Country/Folk Album. Christy is looking forward to mixing with the French Musicians and sharing with them her love of music. Christy will be travelling to France with her husband , Jason , and children Ruby & Jimmy.

Pam Hales, Monica Redden, Celine & Dume Paolini, David & Wendy Green, Rosemary Kain & Paula Tsernjavski are all going to be involved either in creating a sculpture or being support for artists.

Six different sculptures are being planned for the Sculpture Track in Beachport

  • Giant Nest
  • Birds
  • Flying Boat
  • Wind Tap
  • Double Jetty
  • Global Fish

They will be made from a variety of materials including wood, limestone & stainless steel.

Dume & Celine, from La Ferte/ St Aubin have been working in Beachport with  these local artists and will be taking care of them when they arrive in France.

Celine said that in France people would expect you as an artist, to actually have a job description, where as in Australia people are much more relaxed with the artist tag which makes everyone coming together more social & relaxed.
